AAMCNews writer @Bridget Balch spoke with people across our academic community to gather sage advice for the class of 2028. Share these tips with the incoming med students in your life. Would you add any additional advice to this list?

    1. Finalize your commitment.

    2. Make the most of your school’s orientation programming.

    3. Prioritize your physical, mental, and emotional health.

    4. Don’t compare yourself to — or compete with — your peers.

    5. Read multiple medical journals and stay curious.

    6. Find your mentors.

    7. Embrace the challenge.

Love these tips!   I would add:

    1. Use this as an opportunity to establish daily healthy habits (similar to #3).
    2. Be sure to know your WHY.  Why do you want to be a doctor?
    3. Understand yourself.  Your core values.  This will help with your daily decisions about time.
    4. Be sure that you have precision time management.   Account for every hour of the day.
    5. Understand Imposter Syndrome
