At the request of the White House, the AAMC recently convened a call with senior medical leaders from AAMC member institutions and the federal government to discuss the current status of monkeypox in the United States. Currently there are nearly 80 federal government testing sites, with a testing capacity of 8,000 samples per week, and only a small percentage of capacity is being utilized.

The AAMC and the CDC have developed a resource guide with the latest information and resources to prepare for and treat monkeypox, as well as a checklist for clinicians to use when assessing suspected cases. Please share these resources with clinicians at your institution.
