We don’t know who needs to hear this but: candy overindulgence happens. Our friends at Henry Ford Health System offer some advice for recovering from a sugar binge:
DO
- Drink lots of water. This can help curb cravings and flush your system.
- Plan ahead. Having healthy meals and snacks available may prevent temptation to overdo it.
- Hit reset after a binge. Load up on protein and fiber-rich foods that keep you feeling full without the sugar high.
DON’T
- Beat yourself up.
- Starve yourself. Eat a full day of balanced meals: fiber-rich carbohydrates, protein and fat to help you feel full.
- Eat on the run. Be mindful of when you’re eating. Staying focused on your indulgence will help you enjoy it more.
