Hey y'all! I'm really digging the new Resource Bundle feature that was added to the communities. So, in the spirit of Tip Tuesday, I wanted to draw your attention to the Gun Safety Resource Bundle. Given the growing number of gun deaths each year and our belief that gun violence is a public health crisis, we curated resources and tools from the AAMC and beyond.

Back in October, the Building Better Curriculum (BBC) Webinar Series hosted a thematic exploration of firearm safety and gun violence. This is just one of many featured resources in the bundle and I encourage everyone to check out the articles, videos, podcasts, and related discussions. Perhaps one of the best parts is that these bundles are dynamic-- they are meant to shift and evolve as resources become available and updated. Do you notice something that's missing? Please share your insight and expertise with us.

Have an idea for another resource bundle or want to collaborate on creating one?! Please reach out- I love pulling things like this together!

“More and more, physicians see our role as not just treating a wounded patient in the trauma bay… but also addressing prevention and the effects that reverberate into families and communities.” –Chana Sacks, MD

An estimated 40% of Americans own a firearm. We have a responsibility to teach our medical trainees to discuss firearm safety with patients and families — and many schools are already doing this lifesaving work.
