Tip Tuesday: Roadmap for disability-inclusive health care
Two-thirds of US physicians don't feel they have the training and skills to properly care for patients with disabilities. The Action to Build Clinical Confidence and Culture (ABC3) Coalition, of which the AAMC is a member, has created a roadmap to help clinicians provide the best health care possible to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The "National Roadmap for Disability-Inclusive Healthcare" includes input from people with disabilities, their care partners and caregivers, clinicians, and other health care leaders.
The roadmap provides clear goals and commonsense actions that groups can take to inspire change among both practicing clinicians and clinicians-in-training. View the roadmap, an intro video and additional resources.
