United Against Inequities in Disease (UAID) is pleased to invite student leaders to join the nation’s oldest 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to students advancing health equity (uaid.org)!
Student members of UAID benefit from a number of valuable opportunities including:
- Comprehensive training in health equity
- Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating community health projects
- Real-world experience addressing local health inequities
- Opportunities to publish in a peer-reviewed academic journal
- Experience writing abstracts, creating research posters, and presenting projects at national conferences
- Participation in national case study competitions
- The ability to earn certificates in Health Equity Training, Community Service, and Leadership in Health Equity as well as graduation cords
- Leadership opportunities and development of professional skills valued by health professions programs
- Regular mentorship from experts in public health
- Opportunities to fulfill academic credit, practicum, or capstone requirements
