We often hear from those at teaching hospitals and health systems about the persistent challenge of communicating the advocacy needs of patient care to federal, state, and local governments when they are making policy, and how data can help that aim. Some members have reported using national or AAMC data in various media aimed at supporting advocacy, often drawing from publicly-available sources. Welcoming everyone to discuss your thoughts on this thread on anything related to this topic:
- How does your institution use data for advocacy?
- From your perspective, what challenges exist to future effectiveness in advocacy?
- What data challenges are keeping you up at night?
It is always helpful to hear your feedback in shaping the AAMC’s data strategy to meet current and future needs.
