Today is AAMC's inaugural Day of Action on rural health, meant to shine a light on how your institution is helping rural and underserved communities who often face challenges in accessing critical, timely, and high-quality health care. We chose today to complement National Rural Health Day -a day set aside by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) and its partners to raise awareness and recognize the efforts of rural health care providers, communities, organizations, state offices, and other stakeholders. Today, we commend those committed to addressing the unique health care challenges facing rural Americans and working together to find innovation solutions.

In addition to tagging the AAMC (@AAMCToday), we encourage you to tag your members of Congress to demonstrate the value of academic medicine in serving rural patients and communities. Share your institution's programs, initiatives, and community collaborations as we celebrate all the important work our members like you are doing to serve rural communities.
