Building Better Curriculum Learning Series: New & Emerging Trends in Health Professions Education

This virtual collaborative learning series aims to raise awareness and take a deep-dive into a topic about how our transforming health care system is shaping health professions education. The new ongoing series will begin Thursday, February 11th, 12:00 – 1:00 PM ET.

We will kick-off the series with special guest, Dr George Thibault, who will help to frame the new series based on his 2020 publication "The Future of Health Professions Education" describing major trends, including:

  1. interprofessional education including patient collaboration;
  2. longitudinal integrated clinical education;
  3. social determinants of health, including social and humanistic missions, anti-racism;
  4. continuum of health professions education including lifelong learning and wellbeing;
  5. competency-based education (CBE), including time variable mastery learning; 
  6. integration of artificial intelligence and new technologies.
