As part of its IDEAS Learning Series, the AAMC will host a virtual event on Wednesday, May 10 at 12 p.m. ET featuring Thomas A. LaVeist, PhD, dean and Weatherhead Presidential Chair in Health Equity at Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine. Dr. LaVeist has dedicated his career to uncovering the truths behind racial health disparities and will share common myths about the causes of racial health disparities, the flaws in research methods commonly used to study health disparities, and more. AAMC President and CEO David J. Skorton, MD, will deliver opening remarks and moderate the Q&A.
