Learn Serve Lead Resource Bundle

Learn Serve Lead Nashville

Coming together to advance the future of medicine.

Our community members have long waited to reunite with like-minded peers and reignite the spark of collective learning at Learn Serve Lead 2022: The AAMC Annual Meeting. This year, we connected with one another in commemoration of what the last few years have taught us, and we look to the future and explore what lies ahead in medical education, patient care, and biomedical research.

This Resource Bundle curates resources from key sessions and discussions during the meeting, and whether you’re a longtime attendee or new to Learn Serve Lead, you have the opportunity to share your perspective.

Remember, you don’t need to be an institutional leader or a physician to benefit from the materials in this Resource Bundle (and you also don't have to attend Learn Serve Lead to use this content!). All you need is an inquisitive mind; a passion for improving the health of all; ideas for advancing medical education; and a willingness to listen, learn, and share.

    Research in Medical Education (RIME)

Every year, Academic Medicine publishes the proceedings of the annual RIME sessions that take place at the Learn Serve Lead meeting. At these sessions, authors present original research and review papers as well as research and innovation abstracts, which aim to further medical education practice. The 2022 RIME supplement is now available to read and download for free.

Some of the RIME authors joined the Academic Medicine Podcast to discuss their medical education research and its implications for the field. This year’s episodes include:

First (ever) Virtual Communities Book Club

All of us who have attended Learn, Serve, Lead, know how energizing and inspiring the meeting is for attendees.

To leverage and extend that energy, we’re hosting an LSL tie-in Book Club – to bring together both attendees and those unable to attend.

We’ve selected The Power of Us (Bavel and Packer) from the proposed meeting reading list. Those in Nashville who attend the November 12th at 1:30 session The Power of Us: Improve Performance, Increase Cooperation & Promote Social Harmony can bring added insight to the book discussion.

This discussion of identity – what it is, how it is shaped and reshaped, how it can be a positive (or negative) force – couldn’t be more timely. Read the summary (and/or chapter highlights) to whet your appetite, then plan to join the Book Club discussions!

We know your schedules are full, so we’ve varied the days and times. You don’t have to attend all!

Please note that you do not need to attend LSL, all three sessions, or have read the book, to participate. Join @Nancy Hayes, one of our virtual community volunteer champions, who is hosting this series. Use this time to meet others in the virtual communities and who may have highlights to share from the book and author.

Take a look at some of the videos available to further the discussion.
