More than 2 million people have already signed up for health coverage during the Marketplace Special Enrollment Period (SEP). The nation’s medical schools and teaching hospitals are on the frontlines serving patients and are key stakeholders in increasing awareness among uninsured individuals and guiding them through enrollment and the plan selection process. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has developed a toolkit to provide more information and guidance in the closing days of the SEP through social media posts, graphics, flyers, and additional content. The deadline to apply and enroll is August 15.
