If you are new to the world of medical schools and teaching hospitals-or have ever helped someone new try to navigate the alphabet soup of academic medicine acronyms-this guide is for you. For the first time, the AAMC staff is sharing our internal acronym directory! We hope this helps some of you sort out your USMLEs from your ECFMGs and your GSAs from your GRAs.
