Matthew C. Baker is Director, Policy Research and Analytics on the data team at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and primarily focuses onthe impact of reimbursement policy, Medicare, and health system data. His work includes customized hospital data reports and benchmarks to AAMC-member hospitals and health systems, as well as peer-reviewed research. Through data analysis and research, he and his team support the regulatory and advocacy mission of the Association of American Medical Colleges on behalf of members. His work promotes sound policy toward the goal of better health for all, and serves members through better understanding of health system policy impacts, especially on inpatient and outpatient hospital payment. Matt holds a PhD in Economics from George Mason University, as well as a Master of Science degree in Applied Economics from Virginia Tech.
