First (ever) AAMC Virtual Communities Book Club!

When:  Nov 18, 2022 from 01:00:00 PM to 02:00:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  Academic Medicine Open Forum

All of us who have attended Learn, Serve, Lead, know how energizing and inspiring the meeting is for attendees.

To leverage and extend that energy, we’re hosting an LSL tie-in Book Club – to bring together both attendees and those unable to attend.

We’ve selected The Power of Us (Bavel and Packer) from the proposed meeting reading list. Those in Nashville who attend the November 12th at 1:30 session The Power of Us: Improve Performance, Increase Cooperation & Promote Social Harmony can bring added insight to the book discussion.

This discussion of identity – what it is, how it is shaped and reshaped, how it can be a positive (or negative) force – couldn’t be more timely. Read the summary (and/or chapter highlights) to whet your appetite, then plan to join the Book Club discussions!

We know your schedules are full, so we’ve varied the days and times. You don’t have to attend all! But the others are below if they interest you:

  • Monday, November 21 4 PM EST (3 CST, 1 PST)
  • Wednesday, November 30 2 PM EST (1 PM CST, 11 AM PST)

Please note that you do not need to attend LSL, all three sessions, or have read the book, to participate. Join @Nancy Hayes, one of our virtual community volunteer champions, who is hosting this series. Use this time to meet others in the virtual communities and who may have highlights to share from the book and author.

*No pre-registration needed; simply click "register" to log-in to the zoom event at the scheduled event time.
